Gerry Gardner was born to Wes and Essie Gardner in Colville, WA in the summer of 1928. She was the 3rd of 5 children - Ervin, Anecia, Gerry, Les and Larry. She grew up in Eastern Washington in a family full of love in what she described as carefree albeit quite poor environment. She met Glenn Martin at a high school dance in Wilbur, WA and they married in 1947 a day after her 19th birthday.
She was dedicated to her children and their families. She nursed her husband Glenn through Parkinson’s and ALS until his death in 1999. She cared for her eldest daughter Camille as she fought and lost her battle with breast cancer in 1991. She endlessly loved and cared for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was quietly vibrant, strong and sometimes silly in her petite 5ft frame. She could decorate and garden and did both often and for hours. She loved her evening glass of red wine. She loved her winter trips to Hawaii. She had quite the entrepreneurial spirit owning and running the Karmel Korn Shoppe at Aurora Village and buying and flipping many a house. She held our family together and she will be with us in our many hearts forever. We cry tears as we miss her but smile as we remember her. Bye Mom, Grandma, Granny, Great Grandma Gerry. We all love you very much.
Gerry is survived by 3 children - son Don and Jill Martin, son Greg and Sherri Martin, daughter Carla and Kirk Stanford. Pre-deceased by her eldest daughter Camille in 1991.
